My Story

Behind FitStyle Creative is Claudia Larouche, an experienced journalist and writer with several years of experience in the print and online industry. I have worked across Canada following my two passions - writing and sports.

While completing my Bachelor degree in journalism in Montreal, I began my career at Radio-Canada Sports covering various national and international competitions. After graduating, I continued my journey to Newfoundland and Labrador to learn to speak and write in English. While doing so, I learned the ropes of running the province's French newspaper Le Gaboteur from writing stories to designing layouts and collaborating with Francophone communities.

The next adventure brought me to Vancouver, BC where I worked as an Internet Specialist for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. I researched and wrote numerous feature stories and athlete profiles as well as collaborating to the record-setting Vancouver 2010 website. With the Torch Relays team, I was responsible to organize, research and write all content and manage the Torch Relays microsite as well as the official social media accounts.

Recipient of a Stacey Levitt Women and Sport Memorial Scholarship from the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity in 2007, I was also a freelance writer for several magazines and publications, including the Gravenhurst Banner and Bracebridge Examiner in Muskoka.

I always have been dedicated to the communities where I live. I began to volunteer in 2004 for the Canadian Deaf Sports Association as a reporter for their national and international events, including the Deaflympic Summer and Winter Games.

My passion is to write high quality content about people and organizations in order to share their stories with the world. With FitStyle Creative, I bring that passion to a whole new level by offering my skills to help Muskoka businesses and organizations to strive through state-of-the-art content and online presence.
