There was a time when businesses and organizations only needed to communicate their brand offline (remember those 1950’s advertisements?). These times are now long gone.
However, they still need to communicate with an audience offline, but also build an online presence through effective branding. What does this mean you ask?
It means that in today’s world, your brand gains in being seen and known across several digital platforms. What are digital platforms? They englobe websites, social media accounts, emails, blogs and newsletters (and more).
It doesn’t matter if you operate a small or massive business, write a weekly blog or run an online shop, effective branding is what will give you an advantage in terms of generating brand recognition and a voice that your community will feel familiar with.
How do we create a successful online presence?
First of all, have a great logo and place it everywhere from your website, e-mail signature to social media profile photos.
What is your brand messaging? What key messages or values do you want to communicate to your audience? For example, my key messages and values at FitStyle Creative are quality, tailored services and remarkable customer experience. I aim to provide high quality services tailored to my clients’ needs, and I try to show this through my offline and online presence.
Integrate your brand to every aspect of your business or organization from how you answer to people, how you write your emails, what kind of content you post on your social media channels, what kind of imagery you use, etc.
Do you have a voice that reflects your brand and who you are? This voice will be applied to all written communication and visual content used internally and externally. If you look at some of the major brands, you will recognize their voice everywhere. It is the same thing for you.
Do you have a tagline? It is a meaningful and concise statement that should capture the essence of your brand and voice. At FitStyle Creative, the tagline is “Communications that Fit Your Style”.
Do you have brand standards for your materials or templates? This refers to using the same color scheme (you can note the RGB or HTML colour codes to apply in any software you use), logo placement, look and feel, etc. It can be very simple and easy as long as it is your voice. It also needs to be consistent.
Be your brand. Be who you are through your brand. This is how you develop an audience and customer loyalty.
Last one and most the important item - be consistent. Consistency will carry all of the above points. FitStyle Creative publishes a weekly post every Wednesday and I also initiated specific types of post on specific days. That sort of things is a part of being consistent.
I hope this blog post is helpful in integrating your brand across digital platforms. If you have any questions or comments, I will be very happy to respond. You can ask me any question in the comments box below or by contacting me directly.
